Obituary

Age 63, of Kalamazoo, passed away peacefully at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, MI, on Thursday, December 11, 2025. She was born June 10, 1962, in Dowagiac, MI, to Jerry and Elaine (Emery) Anderson. Candy graduated from Hartford High School in 1981, and joined the Army National Guard, then later received her bachelor’s in human services from The University of Phoenix in 2003.
Candy loved her family and friends and would do anything for them. In her free time, she enjoyed spending it outdoors; camping, fishing, taking day trips to the beach, or just hanging around the fire-bowl with family and friends in the backyard. She also loved to travel and would take any opportunity to do so, from visiting friends and family in Florida and New York, too one of her favorite places, such as Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN. She also loved having pets, one of which was her teacup yorkie, Gizmo, who brought her comfort in her final days.
She is survived by her wife Molly Foster, whom she married November 16, 2015 in Kalamazoo; her sons, Matthew Cook, and Ryan (John Jacobs) Cook; her niece and nephew, Sandy (Bill) Menck, and John (Lisa) Goodell; her grandnephews, Cole (Taylor) Menck, Zackery (Emily) Menck, and Gunnar Goodell; her brother, Buddy Hannah; and many in-laws from the Foster Family.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Ginger Messner, Laura Goodell; her sister-in-law, Carrie Skelton; her parents-in-law; and her parents.

I was so sad to hear of Candy’s passing. My heart goes out to Molly, her boys, and her family and friends. We used to have the best time camping up north.
