Obituary
Age 70 of Mattawan passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025. Carol was born in Kalamazoo on February 22, 1954, the daughter of Martin and Lorraine (Emmons) Thysse. She was a 1972 graduate of Parchment High School and Parsons Business College. Carol retired from Western Michigan University where she was employed for over 40 years. On April 20, 1980 in Kalamazoo, Carol was united in marriage to Thomas Olmstead who preceded her in death on March 1, 2018. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Sally and granddaughter, Whitney. Surviving are three children, Kristen Wright, Matthew (Dana) Olmstead, Mark Olmstead; five grandchildren, Jordan, Kyle, Hailie, Mariah, Jeremiah; two sisters, Wendy (Lyle) Thysse, Brenda (Jim) Mosher; four nieces, Susie, Marie, Courtney and Amanda.
Dear Family of Carol, Our sympathies and condolences to each of you. Carol was a kind, devoted, and caring lady. Her presence at services was missed with the onset of health issues. She and Tom were a team that loved their children and grandchildren. May her Lord be near you as you mourn her passing, her promotion to Heaven, having received Him as her Savior. See John 3:16.
