A private committal service will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Carl. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 81, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Carol was born in Pontiac, Michigan on November 24, 1936, the daughter of the late Josephus and Lola (Collins) Bicknell. On November 2, 1956, she married Carl H. Richards who preceded her in death on September 26, 2014. Carol was also preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Horbatiuk and sisters, Virgie Ann King, Patricia Evenson, Denise Davenport and Sharon Bicknell. Carol cherished her relationship with the Lord and loved putting her family at the center of her life. She was an avid reader. Carol is survived by her daughters, Rhonda (Jim) Dennis, Theresa (Steve) Bannister, Jennifer (Tim) Harmon, Paula (Richard) Bigger, Mary (Mark) VanderSchuur and Amanda (John) Bliss; 19 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Please accept my sincere condolences. Although I did not know Ms. Richards, I have known her daughter Paula well for many years and because of this can only imagine was a great person Carol must have been. My thoughts are with your family at this time…
My thoughts and Prayers are with her family and friends although I never met Carol in person we have been corresponding for sometime now on our genealogy and I am grateful that I was able to get to know her and her beautiful family that way,I really appreciated her sharing her information as well as her pictures.
