Age 80, of Galesburg, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family. Dan was born in Battle Creek, on May 22, 1944, the son of Clayton Benjamin and Luella (Schafer) Dunn, the youngest of four children. He attended Galesburg-Augusta Schools until the 6th grade. He worked for many years as a cement finisher for Duckworth Cement Contractors. On February 22, 1964, he married Sandra Hill who survives him. He was an avid outdoorsman and liked hunting and fishing. He was a big fan of the Detroit sports teams, the Lions and the Tigers. He would try to watch them every chance he got. Dan was a great jokester and loved playing pranks. Nothing was more important to him than his family. He was loved and will be sorely missed. Besides his wife, Dan is survived by his children, Tina Daniel, Kathy (John) Schwartz, David (Shannon) Dunn, Christine (Jesse) Richards, Lela Dunn, Daniel (Heather) Dunn; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lou McKinney and Joy (William) Whipple; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Irene (Bill) Raabe, Barbara Hotchkiss, GayNell (Don) Lantis, Frankie (Harley) Lantis; brother, David Clayton Dunn; brother-in-law, Bob McKinney.
