The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM, one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Rest Christian Hospital or the Phillips AFC Home, c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 82, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the Phillips AFC Home. David was born in Kalamazoo on February 27, 1937, the son of the late William and Lillian (Strickland) Buck. Though he faced many challenges he always maintained a joyful spirit. He lived independently for eleven years and enjoyed being outdoors, walking, raking and shoveling snow. He loved listening to bluegrass music and knitting rugs on his loom. David enjoyed being around people and making friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by two sisters, Betty (Richard) Williams and Jodi Wright; dear friends, Carolyn (Marcus) Blass. A funeral to honor his life will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 3, 2020, beginning at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Craig Watson officiating.
So sorry to see this. I worked many years with David.
I’m so sorry to hear of Uncle David’s passing, I never had the chance to get to know him only remember meeting him once when I was young. My dad (David’s brother Gordy) was just told of his passing this morning, we would have loved to have been at the service had we known. Prayers to all.
I’m so sorry to be hearing this. I enjoyed the many years I knew him.
