David E. Osmun

In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place and private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice, c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 81, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Bronson Hospital. He was born on September 3, 1937, the son of the late Elmer and Percis (Dykstra) Osmun. He was also preceded in passing by a sister, Joan (William) Dalman. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend. He attended Kalamazoo College, graduated from Western Michigan University and received his MBA from Michigan State University. He would remain a loyal Spartan fan. He was a hard worker who retired as a Marketing Director from Upjohn International after 25 years. While there he received the W.E. Upjohn Award. When not working he stayed active and was an avid runner and tennis player. David also took great interest in history, was an avid reader and kept decades of personal journals. He traveled internationally and lived abroad for several years with his family. Above all David loved his family and leaves them with many wonderful memories of a life well lived. On November 11, 1967, he married the love of his life Joan Osmun who survives. He is also survived by three children, Gregory (Jodi) Osmun, Scott Osmun and Alison (Alex) Arteaga; five grandchildren, Gretchen and Carter Osmun, Brody, Hudson and Kennedy Arteaga; two nieces, Debra and Denise.

Joan, I am so sorry for your loss. I only met David a few times but remember him as a kind, interesting and gracious man. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Dear Joan and Family, Dave was a wonderful neighbor, friend, and a man that lead by example. We first met 40 years ago this summer when we became neighbors. I always admired his dedication to family and work. I will miss my “Euchre Night” time with him, I looked forward to it each month.
