Age 57, went to be with the Lord on September 14, 2021. He was born in Tucson, AZ, on April 30, 1964, the son of Jacob and Mary (Holwerda) Meyer. David was a loving husband, father, brother, and son who leaves behind many memories to be cherished. He graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration from WMU. He was passionate about people which lead him to a career in sales. He worked hard at Erbsloeh Aluminum Solutions (Formerly Bowers Manufacturing) in Portage. When not working he was passionate about spending time with his family. Together they enjoyed group outings, ski trips and spending time on the water. He was especially proud of his only son JD and took the time to be involved in his life. He loved watching him play soccer and helped coach when he was able. David enjoyed working with his hands and could always be found tinkering with projects around the house. He also enjoyed working on model cars. He was a selfless man who gave freely of his time and resources and was willing to help others when needed. He was a member of Southridge Reformed Church where his smile and warmth will be missed. Though he has passed too soon, David’s memory will be forever cherished by those who loved him. My heart hurts right now. Dave, my dude was a great man. I had a couple of nicknames for him. I usually called him “Big Foot” or “Magnum P.I.” because he resembled a younger Tom Selleck. I shared many laughs with him. I worked with him years ago at Bowers. He always flashed that smile and I knew he had a one liner coming. He always had jokes. And he was always ready to hear one. Some of my greatest memories was going out and celebrating my birthday. He always would bring Karna and we all and such a great time. I missed the old company picnics when he bring both Karna and JD! I can go on and on with stories about him. These are the stories that I will continue to remember and smile and laugh to myself. My heart goes out to the entire family and all of Dave’s loved ones. I’m praying healing prayers for you all during this difficult time. Karna and JD, I want to say thank you for sharing your dude with all of us.
Dear Karna & JD, We are so saddened by loss. Dave was a joy to all those who met him. Our continued prayers are with you and your family.
Dear Karna and Mary and family, my deepest condolences to all on losing a fine man at such a young age. My prayers are with you all.
Dear Karna and JD, I am so sorry for your and our loss. I share many of the same memories that Phalon spoke of as we had our little Bowers clique at company picnics and countless after business hours social get togethers and company picnics. My memories are also enhanced as we were office cube mates for a good 10+ years. Dave’s kindness and wit made difficult times at work palatable and will always be remembered and cherished. I know it has been too many years since we all have spoken, but please know that my memories of Dave and his kindness and beaming presence have and always will be cherished. Regards, Chris

Dave, even after a couple of weeks, I still can’t believe you are gone. I keep expecting to see you walking through the factory, on one of your missions for a customer. Your smile, your laugh, your jokes and your charm are missed by all of us. You were a bright spot in everyone’s work day. As your beautiful family mourns your passing, so does the Bower’s family. We will never forget you.
