Obituary
Age 53, passed away January 30, 2022. David was born in Emporia VA, on August 9, 1968. On July 5, 1992, he married Angela Sorrentino who survives him. David enjoyed riding dirt bikes. He was huge football fan, and more recently enjoyed fantasy football. He loved guns and had started a nice collection of them. David was a great jokester and loved making people laugh. He also enjoyed cooking and grilling. Nothing was more important to him than his family and he enjoyed spending time with them. He was an all-around good guy. He was a teddy-bear and his bear hugs will be missed. Besides his wife, David is also survived by his children Stephanie Dickens and Sean Dickens, both of Kalamazoo; sisters, Susan Stanton and Lori Dickens; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; his mother-in-law, Ellie DeHart sister-in-law, Missie Sorrentino; and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Margaret Blanchard.

I’m just hearing of this today in April. I’m so sorry for your loss Angie. Dave always was willing to listen to whatever you had to say and always had a welcoming attitude. I know you’re going to miss him very much. I hope you can lean on Sean and Stephanie. Sending prayers out to you.
David and I were classmates at Northern Nash Senior High ( class of 1987 ) .. we shared many classes together and he was great guy, he made us laugh when life seemed unbelievably rough.. David had no idea just how much I valued his kindness when I came to NNSH and he befriended me, being from Kentucky everyone it seemed picked on my accent, and I was a very shy small guy, but if you meet David , y’all know he was big ( in heart and stature) he never let anyone pick on me in his presence. Please accept our sincere condolences on behalf of the class of NNSH class 1987 .. RIP our friend
