Age 79, passed away at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo on December 12, 2021. He was born in Jackson, MI, the son of the late JC and Grace (Decker) Eichler. Dean was a kind man who was devoted to his family and friends. He provided a happy home for his family, and all were welcome there. He had strong ethics and worked hard all his life. He was employed as a welder for GM until retiring.  When not working he still found projects to tinker with around the house. In his free time, he enjoyed taking trips to the family cottage up north, going to the casino and spending time with friends. He was a member of the Allegan Eagles Lodge 2315. More than anything Dean loved his family. He was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was happiest when they were near. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of sixty-one years, Pat Eichler; daughter, Shari (Rob) Esman; granddaughter, Ashley (Robert) Huffman and great-grandchildren, Madisyn, Matthew, Jackson Huffman; granddaughter, Tara (Jamie) Storey, who are expecting a newborn; a sister, Helen (Mike) Zachary; brother, Roy Eichler; in-laws, Jerry (Connie) Kaylor and James (Patricia) Earl; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In accordance with his wish cremation will take place and no services are scheduled at this time.

Dear Pat, Shari, Ashley, Tara, and family, We are so sad to learn of the passing of Dean. Our hearts ache with you in your grief, and we pray the Peace that passes all understanding will wash over you and bring you comfort in your time of sorrow. I have fond memories of Dean at the many family gatherings, his great sense of humor, and his loving dedication to your family. I hope those sweet memories will sustain you all as you go through the days ahead. You are all in our prayers.

Pat and family. I just found out about Dean’s passing and am so sorry to hear it. He was such a calm, sweet teddy bear of a guy. Praying for peace and comfort for all his family. He helped my Dad alot when he was so debilitated with his breathing problems. May he rest in peace.❤🙏🙏🙏
