Obituary
Denita L. Burns age 83 of Kalamazoo and formerly of Milford and Ann Arbor, passed away Wednesday evening, August 5, 2026. Denita was born in Pontiac, MI, on May 18, 1943, the daughter of Brison and Mabel (Vradenburg) Hart. Over the years she worked in many positions at Weber’s, Comerica Bank and the corporate offices of Borders Bookstore. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and reading. More than anything she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Denita is survived by her daughter, Denise (Mike) Conklin; grandchildren, Jessica (Shawn) Wismer and Sean (Madison Brandt) Conklin; sister, Sherry (Dennis) Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends including her special friends, Ginny and Scott Kappler, Linda Lawrence and Mattie Begg and her former neighbors, Levon and Sophia Mesropov and Travis Clayborne. Denita was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Osborn, Phyllis Hoffman.
We will miss you Aunt Denita. You lived life on your terms and strong, loving personality will be missed.

She was the epitome of saying “a good neighbor up close better then a relative afar”. Both of our grandparents were long gone yet God gave us her for five years for which she’ll always stay in our memory. She was one of a kind: strict yet kind caring and loving, knew everything that was happening around, she could be funny when wanted and at time very feisty (if that’s even a right word) lol
It was always so easy to talk to her as she was one of the easygoing people I knew. She just was awesome! Best part about her was that talking to her one never felt age difference as her charisma would always take over. We loved her and will miss her until we meet again!
