Obituary
Age 68, passed away April 25, 2023. Diane was born in Kalamazoo on February 28, 1955, the daughter of Richard and Elaine (Kooi) Sweetland. Diane loved nature and walking on nature trails and seeing deer. As a lover of animals, she enjoyed going to Binder Park Zoo. She also loved her grand-dog, Iris. She was a Beatles fan. She loved stockcar racing. Diane was a devoted and loving mother. Diane is survived by her children Troy (Tammy) Wilkes of Allegan and Calli Sweetland of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Brittany Wilkes, McKinley Wilkes, and Gracey Wilkes; siblings, Mark (Sue) Sweetland, Lori (Roger) Eriksen; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Diane was preceded in death by her parents.
I hadn’t seen Diane in many years but she will always hold a special place in my heart. She was a great friend and I will never forget all our camping trips to MIS in my dad’s camper! Fly high my friend..
You will be sorely missed on the trail. Sally and I have missed you. Hope your new trail is filled with a beautiful view. Love D
I knew Diane when she and I lived in the same house (sectioned into apartments) in Kalamazoo. I am so sad to learn that she has passed on. She was such a great friend to me, and I will miss her greatly. Calli, if you read this, my heart and prayers and condolences to you, sweet young lady.
