Obituary
Age 86, passed away early Thursday morning, May 26, 2022. Dolores was born in Saginaw, on January 26, 1936, the daughter of Fred Preston and Eva Delores (Buell) Ferguson Sr. On September 26, 1974, she married James Steven LoBretto who preceded her in death on April 17, 2021. She worked for many years in quality control at Parker-Hannifin, before retiring in 1992. She and James enjoyed their retirement years in Irons, MI. Dolores was an avid birdwatcher and liked flowers. She had a special fondness for her dog, Pooh Bear. Nothing was more important to her than her family. She loved spending time with them, and they will miss her sorely. They include her son, Mike (Deb) Riethmeier of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Alexander Riethmeier and Anna Marie Riethmeier; stepchildren, Linda (Pierre) Cyr, James (Terri) LoBretto Jr., Frances (Ross) Brown, Tony (Priscilla) LoBretto, Timothy LoBretto; several grand stepchildren; sisters, Judy Johnson and Elsie Sweet; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Marie Riethmeier; brother Frank Ferguson and sister Nancy Green.
Pierre and I wish to share our condolences with Mike and his family at the loss of their mother and grandmother. Dolores “Dory” was a generous person always making us welcome when when we were able to visit her and dad at their home in Irons. His death in April 2021 was a great loss to us but also for her. She was the love of his life and a great support; enabling his interest in hunting, fishing and cooking. I am happy to know they will be united for eternity at Maple Grove Cemetery in due course. Rest in peace Dad and Dory.
