Doris liked going with friends and family to Amish country to eat at Essen Haus and to shop at Yoder’s. Doris also enjoyed cooking and baking. Her time with her family was precious to her and she loved them very much. All who knew her, loved her and she will be greatly missed. Doris is survived by her son, Tony (Alison) Johnson of Portage; grandchildren, Sean Johnson and Aislinn Johnson; brother, Ben (Claudia) Johnson; sister, Hilda (Bob) Bradley; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends, including her best friend, Mary Ann Massey. I am so sorry to hear this! My condolences to the family. I worked with Doris at Parker for many years. She was a card! She made a cake once, and brought it to work. It was beautiful! She gave a piece to my husband, at the time, and it was actually a SPONGE decorated as a cake! It was hysterical! I will miss her! She bred incredible dogs! I got one from her and he is the best dog! Rest in peace, Doris, until we meet again.

Our deepest condolences to her family and her best friend MaryAnne… We met Doris this past May, 2021 when adopting our new baby boy from her. If I could report back to Doris now, I’d let her know he is now a 7 mo old ‘brat’. She would smile and understand completely. The last time I spoke to her via text, she had gone to Borgess Walk in clinic with pneumonia and they sent her home with no antibiotics. I hate to think that was the eventual cause of her death… ? What a shock it was to hear of her passing! With her exit, the world loses a compassionate caregiver with a golden heart. I am so terribly sorry for your incredible loss!!! She was such an amazing person. She was very accommodating to us. I will greatly miss her. This is a great tragedy! You should have had many many more years with her. All of you will be in our thoughts and prayers as you adjust to this new reality.
