A service in witness to Doris’ life and faith will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. noon at Westwood Christian Reformed Church, 620 Northampton Rd., Kalamazoo. Friends may call on the family on Thursday evening, February 3, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick St. and one hour prior to service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the church. A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Kalamazoo Christian School Foundation or Centrica Care Navigators (formerly Hospice Care of SW Michigan), in c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 90, went home to be with her Heavenly Father early Monday morning, January 24, 2022. Doris was born in Kalamazoo, on July 5, 1931, the daughter of Henry and Lyda (Tyink) TenBrink. On November 9, 1951, she married Harold Drenth who preceded her in death in 2001. Doris had five siblings and their spouses, all preceding her in death, Harold and Justine TenBrink, Kathryn and Pete VanderHorst, Donald and Donna TenBrink, Gladys and Don Pikkart, and Lucille and Marvin Miles. Doris was a long-time active member of Westwood Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed being with others and especially enjoyed visiting those in the nursing homes and helping others. She was a very loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandma, and friend. Doris loved being with her family. She and Harold were actively involved in the lives and events of their children, Lynn and Steve Visser, Pamela and John Post, Debbie and Harvey Leep, Kimberly and Jerry DeVries, David and Terri Drenth; grandchildren, Kelli (Jeff) Scheffers, Tracy (Mike) Ash, Holly (Dave) VanderRoest, Lisa (Nate) Zichterman, Michelle Post, Jill (Chris) Miller, Heather (Jeff) Groendyke, Curtis (Kammy) Leep, Brandon (Aimee) Leep, Monica (Adam) Jarvis, Kristen Leep, Mitchell DeVries, Scott (Ashley) DeVries, Michael DeVries, Brian (Michelle) Drenth, and Makiah Huebner; and 30 great-grandchildren; and many friends.

I can see Aunt Dorie’s big smile. She was a wonderful Aunt and will always be remembered for her caring personality and love of her family. Heartfelt Sympathies to all the children, grandchildren and great grand children. She was blessed with all of you in her life
