Duane C. Vernia age 80, passed away at his home on Friday evening, July 17, 2026. He was born on December 23, 1945, the son of the late Joseph and June (Marshall) Vernia. Duane was a longtime member at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he often served as an usher. He was a hard worker who spent many years as a hairstylist and insurance agent. He spent 7 years in the National Guard. Duane loved to work on and collect sports cars and was a member of various car clubs. On February 14, 1981, he married Shirley Ann Weesner who survives him. Beside his wife, Duane is survived by daughters, Jacqueline Vernia and Kelly Kanaan and family; step-children, Cenia McCarty, Tera Endsley and families. He was preceded in passing by his parents; son in law, Trevor McCarty , brother, Bruce Vernia; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Clinton Stoneburner.
