Obituary
Age 56, of Marshall passed away on July 10, 2025. He was born in Detroit, MI, on September 26, 1968. He grew up in Olivet, MI, and would eventually make his home in Marshall. Edward was kind, loving and a joy to know. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. He was a skilled plasterer and enjoyed his construction work. When not working he loved to spend time outdoors, hunting, fishing, gathering morel mushrooms or throwing horseshoes. He loved being a father to his son Andrew. On May 27, 2017, he married his childhood friend and longtime companion Randi (Devine) Shumaker. Edward’s laughter, smile and love will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Randi; son, Andrew Shumaker; stepchildren, Eric, Danielle, Ashley Devine; extended family and friends. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Donald (Patricia) Shumaker; two brothers, Paul Shumaker and David Walters.
My brothers and I grew up with Eddie. In fact he lived just down the road from us when we were all little. I can’t believe this news. I hope he is at peace now and can rest easy. I hope his wife and kids know how much he loved them, and now, he can watch over them always. Fly high Eddie, please when you see Marty up there please tell him I love and miss him everyday.
EDDIE,Im going to miss you,I remember when you and David were little and I was your baby sitter you boys gave me a run for my money. I love you so much you were my son from another mother you and David both. When you see Marty Pat Don and David tell them I love them RIP sweetheart. SO UNFAIR.
