A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Centrica Care Navigators, in c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
of Kalamazoo, passed away early Sunday morning, December 8, 2024. Eunice was born in Kalamazoo, to William and Violet (Purk) Tucker. Eunice loved travelling to Florida and enjoyed being near the water. She was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and Mickey Mouse. She worked for 27 years at James River where she was a quality control inspector. It was also at James River where she met Dennis Gillette who she married on March 23, 1992, and who survives her. Besides her husband, Eunice is survived by her children, John (Kristi) VanDeWoestyne, Veronica Loven-Giron, Leslie (Cristen) Caffrey, Annie (Mike) Verbrigghe, Jesse Gillette and Tajhia O\'Donnell; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Tucker and Art Jolliff; sister, Nancy Kroupensky; several nieces and nephews and countless friends. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, William “Billy” VandeWoestyne; son in law, Manuel Loven-Giron; sisters, Gladys Jacobs and Pat Wooden.
My dearest Aunt, You will be forever missed and always remembered for your wonderful work ethic, love for a good laugh and family time, any rhyme or reason to pull all the furniture out to clean and rearrange 🙂 and especially your homemade sun tea. I always enjoyed myself at your house for overnights and weekends. May you finally be in peace you show us strength beyond measure with your fight. We will always keep you in our hearts and on our minds, you will be missed. Sincerely love, Cissy
