A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Centre Ave. Church of God, 1917 E. Centre Ave., Portage, MI 49002. Interment will be at Alamo Center Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or Centre Ave. Church of God, c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. Frank was born in Dexter, Kentucky on January 30, 1935, the son of the late Clarence and H. Elizabeth (Duncan) Phillips. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Strong) Phillips; children, Penny, Dawn and Dennis Phillips; as well as several siblings. Frank was a man of integrity, which was exemplified through his love for his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting. On November 27, 1993, he was united in marriage to Annie M. (Tibbetts) Phillips who survives. Frank is also survived by his children, Teresa Morrison, Kenny (Nancy) Phillips and Beth (Kevin) Griner; step-children, Larry (Cindy), Russ (Pam), David, and Bruce (Becky) Zimmerman and Judy (Greg) Kinser; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Mary) Phillips and sister, Novella Carroll.
Rest in Heaven Frank. Such a kind and caring man.
Frank was a man of kindness, graciousness, and sincerity. A man of integrity and honor. A man who loved his Lord and family deeply. We were blessed to have Frank as a neighbor, and he will be missed greatly. Our deepest sympathy to Ann and the entire family. May God bless you with His loving, healing grace.
