Dad: Even though I am not your blood daughter, you always treated me like one. I entered your family at the young age of 16, and you and mom welcomed me with open arms. You always took the time to teach me the value of hard work and life lessons. You were there for me through all the good and bad times. I felt your presence with me the night you passed into Heaven. Reminding me of All the beautiful memories and the bond we shared. I know you are with Mom now, because the last memory you gave me was of you and mom dancing the jitter bug in the middle of the living room floor. I will miss your voice, your hugs and your wisdom, but I know you will be watching over us from Heaven. Thank you for the memories and for always loving me and your grand children.
Frank was my brother in law and friend. In a conversation with Frank I found out my father Glenn Garrett and Frank were both in Germany at the same time in the army. They were the same age and we were comparing pictures from my dad and Frank. They very well could of known each other and we both thought that was kinda cool! My Dad never talked about his service days, but Frank always talked about his time in the service. Frank actually was driving to our house only 5 years ago to help me build a bedroom for our grandson Dewey. Every day like clockwork, he would be there at 9am. Frank would show up even on days I didn’t want to get up early! We worked on that room for over 2 months and he never missed a day. That was awesome and I enjoyed all the conversations with him. He was more of a father figure to me than a brother in law . I enjoyed my time with him a lot.
My thoughts & prayers go out to Frank’s family. He was a kind and wonderful neighbor & friend. I’m so glad that he is at peace finally & no longer dealing with illness and pain. I will miss our talks & his many stories that he would tell when he’d invite me in to warm up after shoveling. I will forever hold the image of him riding up & down our street on his bike or seeing him out tinkering on an engine, be it a car or mower. I will miss waving as we’d walk by the house with our dog. Rest in peace my neighbor, my friend…so glad God brought you home.
I will miss my Uncle Frank, but I know he’s in heaven with Aunt Lin, Momma and Grandma and Grandpa Frazier…They say time heals, but it really doesn’t…memories are made for this very reason…My heart goes out to my Cousin’s Franky and Marty…may God comfort you at this time…love y’all!!
