Genevieve Wright, 101, of Marcellus, MI, passed away on April 10, 2021, at Grace Valley Assisted Living, Kalamazoo, MI.

She was born May 23,1919, in Three Rivers, MI, the daughter of Leslie Whited and Anna Norton Whited.

Genevieve graduated as Valedictorian from Three Rivers High School in the class of 1937,

She married Arden Wright near Jones, Michigan on November 24, 1938. They were married 57 years. Arden died in 1997. They were named to the Michigan Farmer’s Hall of Fame in 1990.  Genevieve served as Flowerfield Township Trustee and Treasurer. She was a homemaker, accountant for the family farm, and active in her church and community.

She was a member of Howardsville Gospel Chapel. She was active in the Ladies Missionary Society, served as a Deaconess and taught Sunday School for many years. Genevieve loved and cherished her family and the friends she made during her 101 years. She was a faithful prayer warrior and mentor.

Remaining to cherish Genevieve’s memory are her children, Jay Wright (Pat) of Spring Lake, Mi, Daughter-in-law Gloria Miotto Wright of Rockville, MD, David Wright (Debbie) of Winston Salem, NC, and Nancy Wright of Kalamazoo, MI; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchild. Her son, Charles, preceded her in death in 2003.
