George Arthur Tazelaar Jr.
February 20, 1952 – April 10, 2018
According to his wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will is scheduled for Saturday, April 21st, 2018 at the Eastwood Fire Station (Station 2) located at 2703 East Main Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Obituary
Age 66: George passed away at home, under the care of Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 20, 1952, son of George Tazelaar and Frances Buis. George graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. He married Jo-Ann on November 16, 1996. He was known by his family to have a love of auctions and collected antique phonographs and antique glassware. George and Jo-Ann make the circuit with the auctions, and attended them almost every other week. He also loved deer and squirrel hunting and had an incredible love for animals and was known for hand feeding is \"pet\" squirrels through the screen that he prepared for them. They were known for \"knocking\" on the door when it was feeding time. George was very meticulous about his yard and took great pride in how it looked. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Jo-Ann, and his children, George (Margaret) Tazelaar, Kalamazoo, Shawn (Lora Robinson) Tazelaar, Jacksonville, Florida; Mike (Michelle) Kelsey, Schoolcraft, MI.; 6 grandchildren, Anthony Tazelaar, & Zachery Tazelaar; Autumn Kelsey, Rachel Kelsey, Skylynn Tazelaar & Jason Tazelaar, as well as 3 great grandchildren, Ryker Tazelaar, Lyana Poston and Salem Kelsey. He also leaves behind, his sisters, Charlotte Predum, Linda Payne, Mary Hughes, Sherry Henderson and Debbie Rawlson. Special thanks for the care provided by Chrissy and Jessica from Hospice of Southwest Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan, c/o of the funeral home.

I will miss my Insurance discussions with George, we both felt that it was better to have too much coverage than to regret not having enough and he ended up talking me into getting Earthquake Insurance right along with him.
