A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m. Gladys will be laid to rest next to her husband at Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park, South. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Community Church or Kairos Dwelling, in c/o the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the staff of Upjohn Nursing Home and Centrica Care Navigators for their care over the past several months and weeks.

Gladys A. Talbot, age 94 of Kalamazoo, passed away late Wednesday night, October 28, 2026. Gladys was born in Kalamazoo on May 31, 1932, the daughter of Earl and Olive (Walker) Bell. On August 26, 1952, she married Robert Edsel Talbot who preceded her in death in 2016. Gladys was an avid gardener. She enjoyed baking and her family remembers her wonderful pumpkin pies. Gladys also enjoyed reading. She was a member of St. Andrew Community Church and was very active there. She dedicated her life to being a home maker and raising her children. Gladys is survived by her children, Michael (Cathy) Talbot of Tupelo, MS, Karen Poggi of Detroit, and Melissa (Jake) Scott of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Dylan (Marci Robins) Talbot, Andrew (Karen Abke) Poggi, Danielle (Andrew) Brown, Caitlin Scott and Jacob Scott; great-grandchildren, Sophia Brown, Miles Brown, Libby Talbot, Josephine Abke-Poggi; sister, Kathleen; nieces and nephews; and many friends. Besides her husband, Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bud Bell; sister, Louise Marchand.
