A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery. A time of visitation will take place at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
Obituary
Age 96, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018. Howard was born in Kalamazoo on July 5, 1921, the son of the late Gerard and Elizabeth (VerMuelen) Provoost. He was a veteran of WWII, having served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. Howard was a retiree of the railroad after 35 years of employment. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed woodworking and attending car races. On March 7, 1942, Howard was united in marriage to his beautiful wife, the former Betty M. Potts, who survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Linda Bunch, Mary (Buck) Green, Cindy (Rock) Schabes and Kelli (Leo) Moyer; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Thelma (Skeeter) Pacukewicz and several nieces and a nephew. In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his infant son, Mark and brother-in-law, Bernie (Erlene) Potts.
