Jacqueline “Jackie” Marie East, age 80, passed away at Medilodge of Portage on October 15, 2026. She was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on May 22, 1946, the daughter of the late George and Harriet (Bass) Conway. Jackie was a kind, loving and generous woman who was a joy to know. She graduated from Comstock High School, Class of 1964. She began what would be a forty-year career at Borgess Hospital where she retired as a Pharmacy Technician. When not working she enjoyed traveling, gardening, going out to the casino and roller coaster rides. She also enjoyed the tranquility of nature, going camping, spending time fishing and hiking and made several trips to Mackinac Island in the fall. An outgoing person, Jackie eagerly looked forward to spending time with family and friends. She was especially proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was an ever-present person in their lives. On February 22, 1965, she married the love of her life, Lyle A. East, who survives. She is also survived by her children, Debra East, Tamera East, Alan East; grandchildren, Mary, Angel, Carissa, Savannah and Nicholas; ten great-grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Hutchison, Julie (John) Bergeron, Janice (Larry) Bowman; several nieces and nephews extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by a sister, Janice bowman and great-granddaughter Meilani Marie.
