A private graveside service will be held in the future. He and Joan will be laid to rest together in Benzonia Cemetery, Benzonia Twp.

Obituary

James F. Webber passed away peacefully in his home in Portage Michigan on December 21, 2021. Jim was born May 15, 1932 in Detroit Michigan, the son of Rolland & Lucille Webber. Jim grew up in Birmingham MI, and enjoyed sports, hunting, and his first love, fishing! Jim earned his Bachelors & Masters degree from Western Michigan University. He met the love of his life Joan Arlene Ryan while at WMU also. Jim was in the service (Army) for two years following college. Jim married his wife Joan on April 7, 1956, and spent 64 years of marriage together until her passing on February 8, 2020. Jim was a teacher at Loy Norrix High School and coached the varsity hockey team. He was very successful coaching and had a positive impact on the lives of students during his tenure. Jim retired to the north woods of Honor, Michigan where he and Joan lived out their retirement dreams surrounded by family and friends. Jim also was involved in politics and was elected official in Lake Township. Jim is survived by his two sons; Brad & Al; grandchildren; Tiffany, Heather, Shelby and Bradley; and great grandchildren, Blakely, Archer, and Adaline. Jim is also survived by his younger brother Tim Webber. Jim will be remembered as a dedicated husband and father. He was a man of integrity and was as honest as the day is long. Jim was full of wisdom and had a great sense of humor. He led by example and was happiest enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Rest in peace big fella, you\'ve earned it.

2 years have passed since the good lord called you up………boy O boy do we ever miss you. You’re ears should “be ringing” often because your name comes up in conversation and also circumstances regarding perspective and wisdom. Brad and I miss having access to that knowledge….it was always so appropriate and reassuring! Just wanted you to know we were thinking of you and hope the fishing forecast in heaven has you with tight lines and a smile. You forever will be our favorite guy……..your 2 sons Brad & Al

3 years have passed now…….feels alot longer! I still listen to old voice mails just so i can hear your voice. Brad & I talk about you frequently……always a storey followed by smiles and laughs. This day is like a holiday now for Brad & myself. We really miss you pops…..you were truly one of a kind and we got lucky to call you our Dad. Brad n Al
