In accordance with her wish cremation will take place and a memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at the Delton United Methodist Church, 503 S. St., M-43, Delton, MI 49046, with Rev. Michael McCrumb officiating. A time of fellowship will follow at Gilmore Car Museum from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Janet Beth Glidden, age 74, of Delton, MI, passed away on August 18, 2026, with loved ones at her side. She was born in Kalamazoo on March 29, 1952, the daughter of the late Henry and Jenny (Terpstra) Cramer. A kind, gentle and loving woman, Janet made a great difference in the world around her. She had a strong faith and was an active member at Delton Community Church where her smile and joy will be missed on Sunday mornings. She believed in the power of learning which led to a career in education. She taught adult education for many years and continued serving as a substitute for several more. When not working she enjoyed the peace and tranquility of nature and spent many hours working in her gardens. Janet loved animals, especially her rescue pets and was passionate about saving cats, dogs and turtles whenever she could. She was an excellent cook and baker whose treats were always a delight. Above all Janet loved her family. She was especially proud of her children and grandchildren, and she leaves special memories to cherish. On January 4, 1974, she married the love of her life, Richard Glidden who survives. She is also survived by two children, Adam (Danielle) Glidden, Arin (Brett) Riggins; grandchildren, Matthew and Cameron Glidden, Henry and Alieana Riggins; siblings, Phyllis (Chris) Vos, Sharon (Roger) Overway, Marcia (Fred) Ackerman; extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by siblings, Don Cramer and Elaine Kaminga; nephew, Matthew Cramer and niece, Danielle Ackerman.
