Age 76, of Kalamazoo passed away at his home on November 4, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Jerry was born in Trumann, Arkansas, the son of the late Elmer and Birdie (Johnson) Holmes. He would eventually make Southwest Michigan his home. He loved sports, especially baseball and played on many softball teams later in life. Jerry had a hand for mechanics and enjoyed working on automobiles and racing cars. Jerry loved his family and leaves behind many memories to be cherished. He was a proud and loving father, grandfather and brother who will be missed. He is survived by four children, Kimberly (Bob Kemp) Holmes, Stacy Smith, Laura Holmes and Justin Holmes; three grandchildren, Eugene Roberts Jr., Jordan Smith and Izaya Holmes; three siblings, William Holmes, Linda Burnett, Shirley Holmes; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was also preceded in passing by five siblings, Wilma Burrow-Baty, Marie Bullock, Billy Holmes, Betty Holmes and Alma \"Jeanette\" Goff.
