A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be made to Cat World of The Sanctuary of the Best Friends Society, in c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 36, passed away on April 30, 2024. Jerry was born in Kalamazoo on March 22, 1988, the son of Duane and Mary Jo (King) Hoke. Jerry was the owner of Hoke Pest Control for seven years. He was an artist, loving to draw and paint. He was a novice collector of collections of things that held memories for him. Jerry enjoyed music. He also liked playing airsoft games. Those who were close to him called him “JerBear.” His family and friends were important to him but nothing was more important to him than his daughter, Eva Gail Hoke, who survives him. Jerry is also survived by his parents, Duane and Mary Jo Hoke; siblings, Eire Hoke, Riley Hoke, Aria Hoke; grandparents, Jerry (Jeanne) Hoke; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many friends, including a special friend, Daniela. Jerry was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Nora King; uncle, Thomas “Tom Tom” King Jr.; and a cousin, Mark Hoke Jr.
I can’t believe that it’s been 10 days since you have passed away. Your huge heart was actually true… which is also why you’re gone. I miss you so much, JerBear. I’m so sad for Eva but, I will do what ever is humanly possible to keep your spirit alive and in her life by telling her stories about you, your dreams and all your talents. Eva knows you’re her special angel watching from above. I am also so glad you found love again with Daniela. My life will never be the same and I was honored to be your Mom. I have to believe that God had other plans for you because 36 years was Not enough time to have with you. I love you sweet blue eyed boy❤️
