Jerry Lee Spangler age 81 of Lawence passed away Sunday afternoon, July 19, 2026. Jerry was born in Kalamazoo on February 19, 1945, the son of Irene M. Spangler and was raised by his grandparents, Harley and Evelyn Switzer. Jerry proudly served his nation in the United States Navy. Jerry was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing billiards. He also liked attending the auto races. Jerry worked for 30 years for General Motors until they closed in Kalamazoo. In his spare time, he liked to travel by car and train. Jerry was a person of faith and was a member of the Hartford Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Jerry is survived by his children, Amy (Chris) Yoder and Scott Spangler; step-children, Julia (Rob Davis) Bergenham, Erik DuMont; step-grandchildren, Nicolina, Kelsey, Jacob, Anders and Billy; six step-great grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Mike) Mulligan; cousins, Jodie Gleason, Derek (Suzanne) Gleason, Jenni Gleason Pause; and many friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother; his grandparents; former wives, Carol Aivars and Andre Lodoen; cousin, Daniel Gleason.
