Obituary
Age 74, was welcomed into heaven by the Lord, her Savior, on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. Joanne was born in Kalamazoo, on July 24, 1945, the daughter of Merle and Treva (Phelps) Wilkins. On August 1, 1964, she married Larry F. Bean who survives her. Joanne was a real people person. She befriended everyone in her path. Larry and Joanne enjoyed gardening together; she took care of the flowers, while he took care of the vegetables. She was always very active in her church. More than anything she had a deep, deep love for and was very proud of her grandchildren. Besides her husband she is survived by a son, Zachary (Christy) Bean of Lawton; grandchildren, Mason, Mia and Mya; sister, Donna Edenfield of Chicago; brother-in-law, Larry Charkowski of Plainwell; a special niece and nephew, Susan Jordan and Kevin Charkowski, as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins; and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Sunny Charkowski.
I will truly miss you aunt Joanne. You were a real joy in my life. You had a wonderful way of bringing people together! Rest easy and know you were loved by many. Thinking of you uncle Larry and sending love and hugs. What a wonderful life the two of you shared. May you find peace in the days to come.
