The family is planning a graveside memorial service in the spring. John will be laid to rest in Hillside Cemetery, Plainwell. Memorial contributions may be made to Talons Out Honor Flight or Hospice of Southwest Michigan, c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 88, passed away on Sunday morning, November 29, 2020. John was born in Plainwell, on August 19, 1932, the son of Harley C. and Lillian (Bump) Haskins. On September 3, 1955, he married his high school sweetheart Diana Haylett who survives him. John worked as a journeyman electrician and was a proud member of Local #131 IBEW. He also was proud to have served in the United States Army. He and Diana were avid dancers. He loved watching football. Besides his wife, John is survived by his sons, William (Joyce) Haskins of Bluffton, SC, and Joseph (Amy) Haskins of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, John (Aly) Haskins, Kaitlin (Sid Menon) Haskins, Ben Haskins, Bailey (Cean) Rench, Janie Haskins, Jessica Haskins; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Beulah Pallett and Beverly Kelsey.
