A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Almena United Methodist Church, 27503 CR 375 Paw Paw, MI 49079. Pastor Larry French will officiate. A time of visitation will take place at the church, one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be at Almena Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Almena United Methodist Church.
Obituary
Age 77, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019. John was born in Batesville, Arkansas on March 23, 1942, the son of the late Orville J. and Anna Jean (Scott) Richardson. At an early age, John became interested in amateur radio and pursued a life-long hobby, using the call number k8duu. He was employed by Balkema Excavating for 35 years. On June 22, 1962, John was united in marriage to the former Lois E. Mather, who survives. Together, they enjoyed many years boating in South Haven and drag racing at Martin US-131. He is also survived by his children, Traci (Mike) Niesen, Michael (Anna) Richardson, Kevin (Linda) Richardson and Debi (Shawn) Hanner; grandsons, Corey and Joey Galler, sister, Barbara McKinnon; as well as several nieces and nephews.

I know how hard the walk has been for you Lois, but there is great satisfaction with the words you gave to me, 2-1/2 years ago, you honored your vows….for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health….
