A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced shortly at First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo, where Doug will be laid to rest in the church columbarium. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, in c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 76, passed away early Monday afternoon, April 18, 2022. Doug was born in Detroit, on December 16, 1945, the son of John Brackston and Louise (Briggs) Veech. On April 8, 1983, he married Jane Covell who survives him. Doug loved gardening and working on his rose bushes. He was an avid reader. Doug was a graduate of DePauw University, where he was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He was a great storyteller. Doug and Jane had a home at Castle Park in Holland, and he loved to tell stories about their days there. He was an easy-going guy and was loved by everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter, Marta Veech of Kalamazoo; and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
