A memorial mass will be offered on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 5855 West W Ave., Vicksburg. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Ken will be laid to rest at Vicksburg Cemetery, Schoolcraft Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Centrica Care Navigators or St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, in c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 84, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022. Ken was born in Vicksburg, on December 18, 1937, the son of Carl Kenneth and Mindy Mabel (Smith) Gorsline. He graduated from Galesburg-Augusta High School in 1956. Ken proudly served his nation in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for many years at Kalamazoo Manufacturing and in 1988, started his own business, Ken Gorsline Welding. He loved working and never really retired. For 44 years he was a volunteer with South County Emergency Medical Services. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, dancing and hunting. He loved taking care of his horses. Ken was a man of faith was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Vicksburg. On May 13, 1961, he married Geraldine “Jerri” Ottney, who survives him. Besides his wife, Ken is survived by his children, Theresa Gorsline, Kenneth Charles (Renee) Gorsline Jr., Julia (David) Markle, Jonathan (Jamie) Gorsline, all of Vicksburg; grandchildren, Paul (Miranda) Duis, William Gorsline, Angellea Gorsline, Samuel Herring, Darrell Markle, Holley Markle, Jared (Lauryn Mohney) Gorsline, Jordan Gorsline, Jonathan “JJ” Gorsline; great-grandchildren, Amalia, Alaric, Natalie, Parker, Johnny, Emma; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Carl Paul Gorsline; and a brother, Carl Junior Gorsline.

You where a loving father and Grandfather. I enjoyed seeing you and your wife on the horses going around the Naborhood when I was growing up. Then it was you and your children. I enjoyed visiting with your family. It was fun graduating with Terri. My heart breaks for your family at last you are at peace.
Ken always had a smile on his face as he served at Twelve Baskets Food Pantry. He was a treasure to know. May God bless your family as you walk through this valley. Know that friends are praying for your peace.
