Obituary
Kenneth Lee Thompson, age 64, passed away at Bronson Battle Creek on December 5, 2025. He was born in Battle Creek on January 7, 1961, the son of the late Elmer and Audrey (Larsen) Thompson. Kenny enjoyed spending time with his friends and left behind cherished memories for those who loved him. He grew up in Battle Creek and graduated from Lakeview High School. He went on to become a skilled carpenter and worked as an independent contractor. When not working he loved playing golf and spent many summer days participating in local leagues. He also enjoyed camping and trips up north and fun nights out to the casino. Kenny is survived by his daughter, Morgyn (Marie) Thompson; companion, Susan Palmer; siblings, Renee Heide; Edgar (Connie) Thompson, Steve (Jolene) Thompson, Eric (Dawn) Thompson; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was also preceded in passing by a sister, Laureen Harkness.

Kenny and I were close friends in middle school through high school, sadly we did not keep in touch afterwards as I left Battle Creek forever. I am sad to hear of his passing. I have great memories of playing music with him, he was talented on the trumpet. In the summer we would give “jam session” concerts at our house on Goguac Lake with many local musicians performing, Kenny included. We would get quite a large audience pulling their boats up. I remember riding around in his Judge GTO, many teenager adventures we had! I really hope he had a great life, cut way too short as it was.
