Obituary
Kristin A. Dietz age 83 of Kalamazoo, passed away Thursday July 30, 2026, at Hawthorn Landing. Kristin was born November 24, 1942, in Battle Creek the daughter of Russell and Yvonne (Wood) Stark. She graduated from Climax High School and Highland Park Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit. She worked in family practice, pediatric, taught Nursing at KCC, Earned certification as a Rehabilitation Nurse (CRRN) while working for Southwest Michigan Rehabilitation Hospital, and was the Nursing care coordinator for Hospice of Southwest Michigan. Kristin was a member of Gull Lake United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, genealogy, domestic and foreign travel. On December 28, 1985, in Battle Creek Kristin was united in marriage to Theodore Dietz who survives. Also surviving are two children, Karl Zimmerman, Karen (Jeremy) Mertz; four grandchildren; two stepchildren, Stephen (Beth Ann) Dietz, Dawn (Brad) Patterson; one brother, Eric (Jill) Stark. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William Stark, Rusty Stark; sister, Elin Stark.

We loved being with Kris. She was always so joyful and uplifted our spirits just to be around her. We will miss that!
Kris was the president of our garden Club when I joined and she mentored me to be president as she mentored others. She was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to be around with her great sense of humor. She will be missed and remembered by many.
