Obituary

Kyle Alvin Parish, age 60, passed away at his home in Manistee, MI, on August 19, 2026. He was born in Lansing, MI, on April 5, 1966, the son of the late Lyle and Judith (Ellison) Parish. To know Kyle was to love him. He was filled with a loving spirit, gentle heart, and kindness that made him a joy to know. He was extremely intelligent and had a plethora of fun facts and knowledge ready to be shared. His intelligence lent itself to a quick wit and he routinely had those around him laughing. He loved animals, was fond of cats and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. He also enjoyed listening to music and often played “name that tune” during road trips. Kyle knew the value of hard work and dedicated his life to serving at the Michigan Department of Corrections for twenty-six years. When not working he enjoyed many hobbies including biking, reading about and collecting memorabilia from World War I and II, target shooting, playing and watching sports including basketball, football and hockey. Above all, Kyle loved his family and he will forever be remembered by his sisters for his kind, loving and loyal heart. Kyle is survived by three sisters, Karolyn (Tom) Holden, Karen (Rod) Parish-Foster, Kendra (Fredrick) Holmback; close friends, Tim (Teri) Lemire; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
