A memorial to celebrate Kyle’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Northeastern Baptist Church, 6536 East G Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49048. A socially distant style visitation will take place outside the church, one hour prior to the service. The family requests that those attending wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you donate to the college funds for Kyle’s nephews, Owen and Maxwell.
Obituary
Age 32, passed away from Covid related complications at Bronson Methodist Hospital on Thursday, April 22, 2021. Kyle was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on April 5, 1989, the son of Timothy W. and Karen M. (Rand) Stevens. He was a graduate of Parchment High School, class of 2007. Kyle went on to attend classes at Grand Valley State University and earned an associate degree from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He was an avid fan of Star Wars, The Avengers and other action movies. Kyle also loved to play video games. He was employed at Arbor Financial Credit Union as an E-commerce Specialist. Kyle is survived by his parents, Tim and Karen Stevens; sister, Randi (Matthew) Klop; brother, Matthew Stevens; nephews, Owen Stevens and Maxwell Klop; grandparents, Sue Stevens and Keith and Bev Rand and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ron Stevens. I am so sorry to hear of Kyle’s passing. Such a great loss to family and friends. I worked with Kyle at Arbor Credit Union, my friend on the teller line. Kyle was always smiling, always upbeat, and a really fun person to work with. He spoke often of his nephews and family. I know he will be missed. I’m so sorry for your loss.
I remember a young energetic little boy with energy that didn’t stop. He loved family gatherings and the lake. Time goes by so quickly. Kyle came into my doctor’s office where I work. He was all grown up. He didn’t remember me of course, so I introduced myself as his much older cousin. He grinned . Such a polite young man. My heart and prayers go out to my family, I love you and God bless.
Kyle will be remembered by so many in our community. His bright smiles touched many hearts. I grew up with Kyle in the same class of 2007, one of the largest classes at Parchment. I remember playing Little League with him, and trumpet. He was my bank teller for a couple years, I’d stop in and show him and Aaron Cox pictures of my many adventures out here on the road as a truck driver, especially the Rocky Mountains. I’d always ask him how his mom and dad were doing, as his mom was my 2nd grade teacher at Northwood and his dad was one of my many bus drivers I used to have. He used to talk about his family a lot. And I could always tell if it was Kyle who answered the customer service line when I’d call in needing help on my Arbor account. He’d say, “Hey, Beans! How can I help you today?”, in a very enthusiastic voice. And of all the people Kyle dealt with on a regular basis and we remember each other’s voices, that’s pretty awesome! This hits home really, hard. I’m truly sorry for the Stevens’ family’s loss. A friend, a classmate, a brother, an uncle, a grandson, and a son, gone too soon. Until we meet again, Fly High my friend!
