Age 70, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, October 19, 2019. Kim was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on January 26, 1949, the son of the late Lloyd L. and Marguerite C. (Hamilton) Bloomer. He was a graduate of Western Michigan University, earning both a bachelor’s and master’s degree. Kim also earned a second master’s degree from DePaul University of Chicago. He was proud to be an Eagle Scout and was an avid Notre Dame football fan and life-long Green Bay Packers fan. Kim worked as a Clinical Supervisor for Van Buren County Mental Health, with a focus on serving individuals with developmental challenges. He loved to read, especially history and political novels. Kim was always willing to lend a helping hand and could often be found assisting his Milwood neighbors with various tasks. He was a family man, who cherished spending time with his immediate family members, especially his twin granddaughters who called him “Apa”, and close friends. On June 10, 1977, Kim married the love of his life, the former Rose Salefske, who survives. He is also survived by his only son, Casey (Tracey) Bloomer; twin granddaughters, Mikayla and Kelsey; in-laws, Patricia Bloomer, Margaret (Fred) Parkinson, Will (Renee) Salefske and Leslie Candelario; nephews, Danny and Jim (Conni) Bloomer; aunts, Lorraine Meeuwsen, Ruth Anne Fahrni and Joyce Hamilton; several cousins and extended family members, as well as work staff and life-long special friends. Besides his parents, Kim was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Bloomer.
