A visitation will take place at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at West Cooper Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Reverence Home Health and Hospice or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 84, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 21, 2018, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. Lois was born in Kalamazoo on August 28, 1934, the daughter of the late Albert and Helena (Noordam) Van Woerkom. She was a graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School and was employed with City of Kalamazoo prior to the birth of her children. On February 19, 1954, Lois married Nathan DeDoes, who preceded her in death in 1994. Nate and Lois were longtime active members of North Park Reformed Church. In addition to her husband, Lois was preceded in death by five sisters and their spouses, Joanne (John) Ruster, Evelyn (Harold) Newhouse, Marian (Charles) Davis, Lorraine (Donald) Rowley and Carol (James) VanderHorst. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra DeDoes and Carol (Todd) Weddon; two grandchildren, Matthew and Elizabeth Weddon; several in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Sorry to hear of the passing of Lois. We worked together for several year’s at Bronson Surgical Assoc.
Dear Carol, Todd and Sandy, I’m so so sorry for the loss of your Mom. I met her a few times and she was a beautiful women inside and out.
