A service to commemorate Lori’s life will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S., Burdick. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Rose Arbor Hospice or the American Cancer Society, c/o the funeral home.
Obituary
Age 58, passed away February 9, 2020. Lori was born in Kalamazoo on February 18, 1961, the daughter of Marvin and Barbara Ann (Chamberlain) Horn. On July 29, 1999, Lori married Robert Wellington who survives her. She loved amusement parks, especially Disney parks. She loved to watch ice figure skating. Lori will be remembered for being a great cook and she always dreamed of having her own restaurant. She enjoyed being at the Oak Shores Campground where she and Rob had a camper. She loved animals, especially her dog, Mindy, and her cat, Jack. More than anything she loved being with her family. Besides her husband, Lori is survived by daughters, Tori Wellington of Kalamazoo, and Blair Wellington of Kalamazoo; father, Marvin Horn of Galesburg; siblings, Tammy Brock, Scott Horn, Kelly Horn, Chris Horn; mother in law, Ruth Wellington of Kalamazoo; sisters and brothers in law, Brad Wellington, Matt (Pam) Wellington, Melissa (Jeff) Johns; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
Lori loved to laugh. I have many many good memories and they all contained jokes and laughter. There was a time when the two of us were inseparable. I will never forget those times. Lori has exchanged her wardrobe for beautiful bright and shining wings. Her laughter will be heard all through heavens. I love you!
Sweet Lori… always so kind to me. I will always remember fondly your Thanksgiving gatherings full of food, family and love. Your joyful smile and laughter will stay in my heart forever. Warmest sympathies to Rob, Tori, Blair and all family and friends. – Coleen Brugh
Always beautiful
Sweet Lori, my beautiful niece. I remember your laughter that would fill a room. I remember you as a tiny blonde child with pigtails, as a teenager full of energy and fun, as a young woman finding her way in life. Somehow we lost track of each other. You were still always in my heart. You will be missed and I am so sorry for your family and friends. You left way too soon. Love you, Aunt Micky
