Obituary
Age 86, passed away on March 24, 2018, at Rose Arbor with family at her side. She was born in Wyoming Twp., the daughter of the late Paul and Katherine (Korf) Ellen. Louanne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an example of strength, courage and independence. She loved nature and never missed an opportunity to be outdoors. She could often be found taking her daily walk which would lead her on many adventures. During the summer she enjoyed taking her family to Lake Michigan and special trips to Beaver Island. Louanne was an avid sports fan. She was a loyal supporter of WMU Athletics and the Detroit Tigers. She had a strong faith and was a member of Grace Harbor Church. Above all she loved her family and friends. Her gentleness, love and compassion will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in passing by her late husband, Charles Helgesen and many siblings. Louanne leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Scott Morey, Monte (Susan) Morey, Ross (Cindy) Morey, Kent (Connie) Morey; five step-children, Sally (Bart Gulley) Helgesen, Rebecca Helgesen, Martha (David) Martin, Chuck (Toni) Helgesen, Cece (Michele) Santanastasio; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.
My thoughts and prayers are with Louanne’s family at this time of grief and sorrow. I met Louanne when I worked in the office above her’s on Whites Rd. She was always kind and ready to help anyone in need. We remained friends, although our lives went in different directions, but I was blessed to see her from time to time. She loved her family and was extremely proud of her children and grand children. She had a deep love for her family. She will be missed by all of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace and be pain free while she walks with the angels in heaven.
Dear Ross, Cindy, Kristy, Kara and Kylie, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother, mother-in-law, grandchildren and great grandmother. Ross and Cindy I know how much you loved her and cared for her. I am so thankful that you were with her when she passed. Peace be with you. Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. —2 Thessalonians 3:16 Love Dave & Sheri
