Marian Elizabeth Lesterhouse was born July 17, 1948, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Marion Sheen and Juanita Zamora, the first of four children. Upon graduating from high school, she married Steve Singleton Jr., with whom she had three children: Steve, Scott and Kelli. Marian and Steve also took in many foster children and remained in contact with them over the years. Later she divorced and married Robert Lesterhouse, who had two boys, Rick Sabo and Nick Sabo. Marian was a homemaker until her children were a little older, then she worked part time in a local greenhouse and farm. Later, she worked at the Village Market grocery store in Gobles, Michigan for about 26 years.

Marian loved hosting birthday and holiday get-togethers for friends and family, as cooking for others was her love language. She enjoyed true crime shows, game shows and movies like Twister and The Birds. Marian loved the Lord Jesus and was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Gobles, Michigan for many years. After a brief struggle with cancer, she passed to her rest on September 27, 2026, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Stephen Sheen; a sister, Diane Chase; and three sons: Rick Sabo, Nick Sabo and Steve Singleton III. She is survived by a sister, Darlene Sheen; a son, Scott Singleton; a daughter, Kelli (George) Hopper; nephews Justin Jaco and Aaron Jaco; grandsons Bryce Sabo and Aidan Hopper; a granddaughter of the heart, India Thomson; and a great-grandson Grey Sabo.
