Age 82 of Portage, formerly of Augusta, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, October 23, 2024. Mary was born in Battle Creek, on October 1, 1942, the daughter of Helen Ardell (Reames) Godde. On June 6, 1964, she married Robert Edward Lewis who survives her. Bob and Mary were active campers and were members of the Flakey Flyers camping group. They especially enjoyed going to Ponchos Pond in Ludington. Their last big trip was to Nova Scotia in 2018. The family has many memories of camping together. Mary was a great Lady and Christian Mentor. We were blessed to serve in church with her. I know she will be greatly missed. We will be out of state with our children on that day, but our prayers are with the entire family. Love, Richard and Teresa

Mary and I grew up about 3 miles from each other so my memories involve many years; from the house on M-89, our high school years at W.K Kellogg and then the reunions and reunion coffees at Sharon Crandal’s and various restaurants. She and Bob faithfully attended each year. Our last meeting was In July of this year where she talked lovingly of her children, grandchildren and “ greats”. How fortunate this family is to have had such loving and involved family “ elders”. They have left a wonderful legacy
