Obituary
Age 46, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 14, 2020. Michael was born in Kalamazoo on August 10, 1973, the son of Peter and Dorothy (Brizendine) Partanen. He was a 1992 graduate of Portage Northern High School and went on to earn a degree from Northwestern University of Ohio. Michael loved fishing and boating. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed attending classic car shows. Michael is survived by his fiancée, Karen (Lemley) Rees; sons: Johnathon (Taylor) and Joshua Partanen and Dylan Rees; mother, Dorothy Brizendine; siblings, Rick Partanen, Jason (Kelli) Partanen and Laura (Jason) Heckelman; nieces and nephews, Ricky Partanen, Casey and Connor Nolan, Skylar Partanen, Tyson and Kelsey Heckelman and Ellie and Tyler Partanen; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Peter Partanen.
