Age 80, passed away on April 7, 2024, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born on November 20, 1943, the daughter of the late Paul and Cleo (Shriner) Deaner. Nancy was a kind, loving and generous women who was a joy to know. She loved helping others, especially young people and was deeply involved at the Vine Alternative High School where she worked for more than twenty-five years. When not working she enjoyed spending time at her home in Glenn, MI, where she would walk the sandy beach of Lake Michigan and spend time with her “Lake Park” family. She also enjoyed playing golf, shopping, dancing and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving wife to Ken Brightwell who she married on May 20, 1978, and mother to her daughter, Amy Alana Knight and stepdaughter, Angela Brightwell. Nancy’s kind smile and laughter will be missed by all who loved her. She was also preceded in passing by five siblings, Kurt, Craig, Doug, Christine and Bill Deaner.
