Obituary

Pamela Jill grew up on a farm near Caledonia, Ohio with her sister, Judy; brother, Ken; and parents, Willojean and Gilbert. She met her future husband, Jerry, when she was 18 years old. Pam said she knew the first night she met him that he was the husband for her. It took Jerry a bit longer to realize she was the wife for him. They married on March 8, 1975, in Caledonia. While her school friends dreamed of becoming teachers or doctors, Pam dreamed only of being a wife and a mom. Jerry and Pam raised four children: Heather, Jill (Tim), Philip (Maggie), and Emily (Alex). Although Philip was her favorite son, she managed to love her children in an unbelievably equal way. While she loved being a wife and a mother, Pam had the most fun in recent years spoiling her grandchildren, Lily, Oliver, Sam, Kathryne, and Willow. An incredibly passionate OSU fan, Pam could start an argument with anyone who had the audacity to wear U of M clothing in her presence. She was snarky and sarcastic and often quite hard headed about her opinions. If Pam loved you, she loved you fiercely. One of her favorite sayings was, “If I didn’t pick on you, you wouldn’t know how much I love you.” Pam brought such love, humor, thoughtfulness, and spunk to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. We love you Pammy, Mama, Blowfish, Mamma, Momo, and Jerry’s Puff Adder.

My deepest condolences to the Burch family — Jerry, Heather, Jill, Philip and Emily. Pam was a great lady, our neighbor and friend for the years you were in Martins Ferry. I still remember playing Euchre and eating popcorn around the kitchen tables. We had some good times together. May God comfort and strengthen you in your loss.
