Age 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2020, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Kalamazoo on July 28, 1928, the son of the late Paul and Goldie (Roggow) Ruimveld. Paul grew up in Kalamazoo and was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. He was a hard worker. In 1985, he retired from the Bell Telephone Company after thirty-five years of service. When not working he enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working, playing tennis and camping. Paul’s greatest passion was his faith in the Lord. He was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church where his warm smile and dedication will be missed. Paul believed in helping others. He volunteered for twenty-five years with Christian Reformed World Relief and Disaster Response and his heart and home were always open to those in need. Paul was a blessed family man. He was a loyal husband and an involved father and grandfather. Paul was preceded in death by his parent and his son, Leonard Ruimveld. He leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. On September 15, 1950, he married the love of his life, Anita (VanderHoerst) Ruimveld who survives. He is also survived by seven children, Karen (Greg), Peggy (Jack), Matthew (Lori), Joni, Paula (Marvin) and David (Ginny); seventeen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; other relatives and many friends.
