In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place and inurnment will take place in Arizona at a later date.
Obituary
Age 78, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 with her family by her side. Phyllis was born in Kalamazoo on October 12, 1937 to the late Walter and Wreta (Dolbee) Paradine. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Cope, Sr. and Edward Black; daughter, Rose “Sis” Marie Cope and siblings, Leo Paradine, Mary Miller, Shirley Lewis, Fran Frey, Ruth McNett and Lynn Heath. Phyllis is survived by her children, Thomas, Jr. (Susan) Cope, Myra (Mike) Rose and Billie Lynn Christner; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Pat) Paradine and sister, Barb Wigent.
I remember Phyllis well from school, and when Duane and I moved here on So. 38th St. Phyllis was our neighbor on QR Ave. She was a hard working lady and enjoyed her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her son and family and pray God brings them comfort in the days to come.
