Age 88, passed away at home on Monday, June 3, 2019. Ralph was born on May 08, 1931 in Tell City, Indiana to John and Esther (Malone) Simpson. Although he began working at a very young age, he was called to duty with the United States Marines in 1951. After honorably serving our country, he began working at James River Corporation as a machinist and retired after 45 years of service to the company. On August 2, 1951, he married the former Frances Shrout and they most recently celebrated an astounding 67 years of marriage. Among Ralph’s passions were golfing, metal detection, spending his winters in Bushnell, Florida and most of all, spending time with his family. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, ten siblings and his beloved son, Rick, who recently passed away in 2018. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Frances, their children, Pegge Latini; Terry (Janice) Simpson; Doug (Jenifer) Simpson; daughter-in-law, Annette Simpson, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
